[SWFObject] IE - Multiple SWF with LocalConnection conflict?

Thanks for the reply.  

It's actually Flash 8 player which the issue is occuring on.  I've
updated to version 1.4.3 and unfortunately am stil encountering the same
issue :(

Any more ideas?

the out of memory issue was related to problems with flash player 9.  
Try using the very latest swfobject (1.4.3) and see if that fixes your
problems.
