[SWFObject] Opera and Firefox

the detectkey is just the string name for the parameter in case you
ever wanted to change it from 'detectflash' to something else.

so if for some reason you were already using 'detectflash' you could
tell swfobject to use something different.

as for passing empty values, the correct way to do this is to always
pass 'null' as the value:

> var so = new SWFObject("movie.swf", "mymovie", "200", "100", "7",
> "#336699", false, "high", null, null);

like so.

as for the main question: I decided that showing the user a custom
message instead of just displaying the little puzzle piece was a
better user experience. which is why I direct people to go to the
adobe site. this way they don't need to install any activex controls
from your site that they might have trust issues with. or try to
install plugins that they aren't sure about - since there are so many
out there these days, will they really recognize and trust the flash
player?
