That is great advice, Geoff - thanks. So do you just include 'flash not
here' content with the link and instructions to refresh the page when
the download is done?

i suggest using a normal object/embed tag if you want to force a activex
install on your site....

then when the install finishes, just send them back to the original page
and swfobject should see that they now have the correct version
installed.

i normally don't like doing hte activex installs anymore.. too many
people think it's spyware and might just leave when they see that box
pop up. not to mention the little yellow bar they have to click. sending
them to the adobe site seems more trustworthy to me (although i do hate
that they bundle the yh toolbar with it now - but at least it's optional
and only IE users get offered it)

	Good morning!

We stumbled across this library earlier this week and it looks
very very promising to solve a lot of the cross-browser flash problems
we've been running into. But after searching through the archives of
this list and the blogs, I still have a very newbie question.

I can see how I can check versions against the one I require,
and build the alternate content to direct the user to a download. But it
seems we lose the nice automagic installation we get with the object tag
method. That is, once we direct the user to download the right version
of Flash, what's the best way to get our stuff to reload and display now
that flash is there? Page refresh?

And a related question - is there a URL to download flash that
doesn't suggest the nasty Yahoo toolbar?

Thanks so much for a great tool!
