[SWFObject] Search Engine | Need Some Help Please

Hi Will

Re moock.org: Google's page rank and result positioning is based on many
things. But the important thing for this site is that beyond the flash home
page lies and stock-standard HTML site all of which Google can index. This
you can see if you google moock and select one of the indexed pages' cached
copy. Other factors may be the number of references elsewhere on the
internet that refer to Colin Moock and his site.

Re your site: All you can do is re-submit it to Google and wait. Eventually
it will see that it is a flash only site and the page ranking may change. If
you are hoping to sell more taps then you should encourage the client to
subscribe to the Google Adwords program.

Also you *must* remove the meta tags inside the flashcontent div and just
have plain text. You can format it like you have done in the blockquotes for
presentation purposes so that it will not only be read by google, but will
be presented to those poor souls who lack the right equipment to view the
flash. My suggestion is to introduce the business, describe the products and
state the location of the business. All of which will help google

Incidently, I get a page rank of 3 for the site based on the current google
cache copy.

Hope that helps.

Hello and thanks for reply everyone.

Chris, when you say :-

I >I think you need to add the text that you want to be picked up by the

><div id="flashcontent">

well I just placed the metatage info inside the div, is that what you mean?
can you please check it again and let me know, please forgive me I am just

not familiar with this at all.

it would be unfourtunate if I have to make the front page a static HTML page

so the search engine can pick it up.

there has to be some kind of a solution, so that I can get Google to pick up

the site with the correct url. I mean check out www.moock.org, it has the
first page as flash and if you Google moock its number one!!

how does it work for this site? it doesn't even use swfobject!

also John mentioned that Google has the old site cached, how do I get it to
pick up the new site ! if it can? do I need to do anything, or does the web
hosting company need to do anything!

thank you all for your help and patience.

Kind Regards,

Will
