[SWFObject] SwfObject-bearing HTML Page: FlashVideoreloadingitself upon departure!

Geoff -
thanks - we tried swapping the 2 movies; same duplication result.

We just tried using 2 different SWFs ; same duplication result.

We think the issue is that SwfObject isn't able to work with I.E. 7. Is that possible? We have a site nearly ready to go and don't know whether to abandon use of SwfObject or not, with that site. Pls. advise?

thx,
Carol & Crew

just curious what happens if you swap the order of the movies in the HTML source... try putting the 2nd movie first and then see what happens.

i'd also be curious to see if the same thing happens with 2 different swf files - try just making 2 different swfs and put them into the page and see if you still have the same results.

then try putting your two videos on a new page, with nothing else on it and see if that still causes the problem

As suggested by Susie in the note below, we moved the link to swfobject.js from the body portion of our html to the head portion (see the modified page here) but in I.E. 7 the 2 videos on the page still duplicate themselves when we try to depart the Welcome page.

Anyone know what's up with this? ???!!

    Thanks for your assistance,

One thing I see in your html is that you link to the swfobject.js in the body portion of your html.

I think you may need to link to the swfobject.js in the HEAD portion of your html.

        Hello SwfObject listers...

Love SwfObject but we have run into a problem.

Here is a link to an HTML page in which we have 3 .swfs, all loaded using SwfObject.js. The 2 on the right are streaming Flashvideos.

Everything runs fine except when you click any button in the left-hand ( .swf) navigation mechanism to depart the page. Any attempt to depart for another page results in both the FlashVideos on the right side of the page replicating themselves and displaying one atop the other. It's almost like any click on the navigation mechanism causes the entire current page to reload it's the Flashvideo .swfs.

Can anyone see/replicate this and does anyone know why this happening?

It happens when you try to depart either of the 2 pages that have streaming FlashVideo on them, this one and this one. Oddly, when we eliminate the SwfOject implementation from these pages, we don't have the duplication upon departing either of these two pages.

Any insight you have would be most helpful as this prototype is nearing completion and we'd like to use SwfObject on this site if we can possibly do so. Thanks for any assistance you can give us very soon-
