Never mind on this issue - it turns out that it's my own dang fault

Though I do not have the time at the moment to test it out, I can't
imagine why you can't just pass the flash file a variable (via [Name of
SWFObject].addVariable("variableName", variableValue) in your
JavaScript) and then access the variable in your flash file as
_root.variableName.  For the variable value, pass it something like
'<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.seemysites.net">http://www.seemysites.net</a>' and then use something like
getURL(_root.variableName) in Flash to actually use the link.

I have tried wrapping the whole "flashcontent" div in an <a

Another div floating above the "flashcontent" div, with the link

I don't know why, but whether I try to load it in an external JS
file or have the code which writes the tag directly into the document,
I have IE and Opera both refuse interaction with Flash unless I click
on it first.  You can take a look at <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.SeeMySites.net">www.SeeMySites.net</a> for an example
(if you are running IE on XP, or in Opera 9).  Any help would be
appreciated, because I do not want to go back to not running
SWFObject.  Right now the code is in the main page, but it should still
work, right?
