Ya - I made it because I had 20+ blocks of old code to convert - I suppose I
could add a little functionality tonight (like the flashvars). Like you
said - it's really quite easy.

> Personally, I'd like to see some sort of "advanced" config area, where you
could set things like the name of the div you wanted to write into, or a
whole bunch of inputs, check boxes / radio's for setting params like wmode,
color, flash version etc.

My intent was to make a simple converter for people that don't really "get
it" - I recommend SWFObject all the time on experts-exchange and the n00bs
out there never seem to get it working :P, but I suppose it would also be
nice to have a SWFObject Graphical User Interface/Generator so you don't
always have to go back to the documentation. Hmmm. Perhaps I'll grab a
domain for the project and throw it out there. I just released some other
software (www.tera-wurfl.com <http://www.tera-wurfl.com/> ) and I'm not sure
that I'll have a lot of time for this project, but I'll think about it.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve.

This is cool, especially for people that have to convert lots of legacy code
to swfObject.

Personally, I'd like to see some sort of "advanced" config area, where you
could set things like the name of the div you wanted to write into, or a
whole bunch of inputs, check boxes / radio's for setting params like wmode,
color, flash version etc.

Having a flashvars converter would be on the top of my list as well.
Shouldn't be too hard since it is just ampersand delimited.

Cheers,

Aran

I wrote a script to convert the plain-jane OBJECT/EMBED code made by Flash
to SWFObject compliant code - I think it's pretty slick so I thought I would
post it for you all: http://devel.teratechnologies.net/swfhelp/

Right now it is very simple, and it doesn't support Flashvars parameters,
but if there is enough interest in this code, I'll keep working on it :-)
