Same on my site. Only happens when there are two flash movies on the page. I
have a simple slideshow directly under under the navigation swf.

Also this behavior does not happen when I use it and have only one flash
object on a page.

Yes thanks I tried using all types of doc types, strict, loose,
transitional, still same behavior, although I have narrowed it down to the
js file is causing this. The div tags and/or css have nothing really to do
with it that I can tell.

http://www.advancedaesthetics.com/html/about_reg.html -- still jumps with
old code and loading the js file

http://www.advancedaesthetics.com/html/about_code.html - both movies have
the new code and jumps

Any ideas?

have you tried using a different Doctype? i just solved a two hour headache
of mine simply by switching to a strict Doctype. Tho it certainly wouldn't
explain it working fine w/ win2000.
.... just a thot

Ryan,

I looked in the css files, nothing there that I can see that is causing
conflicts. It is strange for sure, because on a win2000 machine with ie6,
this behavior does not happen, It only happens with xp and ie6 or ie7. And
even then, it does not happen on the home page. Thanks for the feedback, if
there is a solution it would be nice to know what it is.

Thanks Again,
Tim

Aran and Tim,

I agree, I looked over the html, and it looks like there are style tags that
IE supports, but FF ignores. For example, the page is aligned left in FF,
but centered in IE. Thus I think IE is placing the menu in the wrong place,
then placing it correctly after the top banner is placed.

Does the CSS set styles for the SWF DIV’s? If so what?

I think it can be fixed easily, if you can just find out where the conflict
is
but I am sure it is in the CSS/Style tags somewhere.

Anyway, I am really interested in this because I have had similar problems
before, which I fixed
. But (embarrassing) I don’t really know how I fixed
it
..

Tim.

I see what you mean. It doesn't happen for me on Firefox, but does happen on
IE6.

I personally have never run into this, but it looks to be the order in which
the page in being rendered is causing the positioning layout to change as
elements are drawn to the screen.

Anyone else have something useful to add?

Aran

I have 2 flash objects on a page and in IE 6 or 7, the left nav flash object
actually will jump up (stretch) on the page when clicked to go to a new
page.

Any ideas??
