[SWFObject] What is the latest version of swfobject?

HI! Thanks, I was wondering about that because I read about 2.0 a while back
but when I go to the site I did not see any reference to it.

Maybe I missed it but if its not there perhaps putting a beta link to the
version 2.0 would be handy :-)

Paul.

v1.4.4 is the latest stable build:
http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/swfobject1-4.zip

v2.0 is available for beta testing:
http://blog.deconcept.com/code/swfobject2.0/

Original Post from Geoff on v2.0

"Hey all... had a great time at Flash Forward, and had some free time on the
plane ride back, so I decided to start working on SWFObject 2.0.

the main change here is how the expressinstall stuff works - it will now use
a separate swf instead of making you edit your fla. this was needed because
of AS3 - you can't mix AS2 swfs and AS3 swfs together, so it needed to be a
separate swf.

this has made expressinstall much easier to implement.

the only api change so far is this:

when using expressinstall, you no longer pass a 'true' parameter after the
background color - you now use the so.useExpressInstall() method and pass in
the path to your expressinstall.swf (included now with swfobject)

for an example of this in action, see:
 <http://blog.deconcept.com/code/swfobject2.0/expressinstall.html>
http://blog.deconcept.com/code/swfobject2.0/expressinstall.html

because of these changes, the expressinstall as code is an as2 class once
again, so it will help clean up your code a bit as well. (even though you
shouldn't need to recompile the expressinstall swf ever anyway.

so what i'd like from you all here, is to test this out, and then test it
some more. open it up in every browser + flash player combination you can
think of, and tell me if it breaks in any browsers. i'm especially
interested in the expressinstall flow - uninstall your flash player and
downgrade to 6.0.65 and 7 and see if you can get it to work, and if you have
any issues with it.

this version should also fix the crashes some users are reporting when using
flash player 6.

i'm also interested in new feature requests - so if you have ideas for new
features, or even just functionality or API changes, now is the time to get
them heard."
